Dollars and Sense

Retirees, did you know that the Defense Financial and Accounting Service is the primary payroll office for military retired pay and annuity accounts? The 56th Comptroller Squadron Financial Customer Service section can assist in the transition from active-duty to retired status and make determinations for some entitlement programs. However, once retired, DFAS becomes the primary office for questions related to retirement pay. DFAS can be reached by calling 800-321-1080 (Option 1) or faxing at 800-469-6559. For more contact information, visit http://www.dfas.mil/retiredmilitary/about/aboutus/customer-service.html.
