Nevada

Athletes with bikes of all shapes and sizes competed April 9 at the Air Force Warrior Games trials at Nellis Air Force Base. The competitive injured and wounded Airmen and Soldiers raced in seven heats stretching six to 18 miles depending on the bike frame.

Virginia

An 18-year-old Air Force dependent from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, was recognized April 10 for his strength, courage, patriotism and resiliency as a military child at the 6th Annual Military Child of the Year Awards.

Italy

More than 500 U.S. and Italian service members, Italian first responders, and friends came together to mourn the loss and celebrate the life of a fallen Airman assigned to the 31st Munitions Squadron during a memorial service held April 10 at Aviano Air Base. The Airman passed away April 4 while hiking in the local area.

Guam

Airmen from the 36th Maintenance Squadron recently dismantled the vertical tail section of a B-52D Stratofortress static display at Arc Light Memorial Park on Andersen Air Force Base. The aircraft is being removed due to irreparable damage from weather. The vertical tail section is being preserved for a new memorial being erected.
