ASU cadets go through ‘tough’ paces

ASU cadets pull a 6,000-pound high mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicle at the ATSO area. The cadets were invited to Luke by Company Grade Officer Committee members, who planned and coordinated the event.

Arizona State University cadets low-crawl through a ditch filled with muddy water April 18 at the Ability to Survive and Operate area on Luke Air Force Base. The Air Force “tough-mudder” type obstacle course had 18 obstacles and was 1.5 miles long. The event helped equip and prepare Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets for field training and entrance into the active-duty Air Force. The course also enhanced leadership skills, the ability to work as a team, Airman’s Manual knowledge, as well as emphasizing a fit-to-fight mentality.
