56th Comptroller Squadron

Defense Finance and Accounting Services reports to commercial credit bureaus when Defense Department members become delinquent on an account. Accounts with no payments within 30 days are considered delinquent and reported to the credit bureaus as “collection account” on the consumer credit report. The debt will remain as a collection account and monthly account activity will be reported. Failure to pay debts will have negative impacts on the DOD member’s credit ratings and potentially impact future employment opportunities.
