New Jersey

Base leaders, families and service members gathered June 13 at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst to welcome the spring 2014 graduates of the Community College of the Air Force. A special presentation was made to Senior Airman Kevin Duran, 421st Combat Training Squadron, the 350,000th student to graduate.

Senegal

U.S. and African partners concluded a weeklong collaboration event with eight regional air forces June 20 in Dakar aimed at strengthening relationships between the air forces and encouraging an exchange of ideas.

Afghanistan

The flightline in Kabul was filled with C-130 Hercules starting up for another Afghan air force casualty evacuation mission. Within two years, the Afghan air force has made significant improvements to their casualty evacuation capabilities as they continue to take the lead and ownership of day-to-day operations.

Latvia

Airmen from the 435th Contingency Response Group arrived June 16 at Lielvarde Air Base to participate in the Air Force-specific portion of Saber Strike 2014, a recurring exercise that promotes the enduring commitment the U.S. and other allied nations have with the Baltic states.
