The 56th Security forces Squadron handled the following incidents June 16 through 22:

Tickets

Security forces issues citations for 16 moving and one nonmoving violation.

Traffic-related incidents

June 17: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident involving a government-owned vehicle and a fixed object near Bldg. 909. There were no injuries.

June 18: Security forces responded to a report of a minor two-vehicle accident in Bldg. 897 parking lot. There were no injuries.

June 20: Security forces responded to a report of a minor vehicle accident involving a GOV and a fixed object adjacent to Bldg. 179 parking lot. There were no injuries.

Emergency responses

June 22: Security forces responded to a report of a medical emergency at Bldg. 1124. The patient was treated and transported to West Valley Hospital via Southwest Ambulance.

June 22: Security forces responded to a report of a medical emergency on Navajo Circle in Glendale. During medical care, a medical responder fainted. Both patients were treated and transported to West Valley Hospital via Southwest Ambulance.

Nonemergency responses

June 17: Security forces received a report of an individual who did not show up at roll call was considered absent without leave. A coworker stated the individual was homesick, fighting with a romantic interest and considering suicide. The individual was located in a hotel in Layton, Utah, and has been taken into military control.

June 18: Security forces responded to a report of shoplifting in Bldg. 1540. Security forces examined the security video tape and verified the subject departed without rendering full payment. The subject was issued a revocation of exchange privileges letter along with an immediate debarment for one year. Glendale police transported individual off the installation.

June 20: Security forces responded to a report of a suspicious individual at Lightning Gate. There was an outstanding warrant issued by Maricopa County Superior Court for aggravated assault, resisting arrest and failure to appear. Glendale police took control.

June 20: A civil arrest was made on an active-duty member for driving under the influence and theft of private property on Mill Avenue in Tempe. Tempe police arrested the subject after witnessing the individual attempting to steal railroad crossing drop arms, appearing to be impaired and failing to pass sobriety tests. The subject confessed to previous theft of the railroad crossing arms, as well as having possession of stolen property at the individual’s residence.

Alarm activations

Security forces responded to 11 alarm activations on base.

Tip of the week

Avoid leaving pets or children in an unattended vehicle. With an outside temperature of 90 degrees, the interior of a vehicle will reach 109 in just 10 minutes.
