Chaplain’s Thoughts

Chaplain (Lt. Col.) Theadore Wilson
56th Fighter Wing Chapel

William Hersey Davis

“Reputation is what men say about you on your tombstone; character is what angels say about you before the throne of God.”

~ William Hersey Davis

How do you wish to be remembered? I hate to break this to you, but we are all going to “buy the farm” one day. What are you doing now that will outlive yourself? Think about the men and women in your life that have gone before you. What was their reputation, and much more importantly, what was their character?

Recite the Airman’s Creed in your mind. What does it mean when you hear the words heritage, tradition and legacy? Proverbs 22:1 tells us, “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold.”

It means absolutely nothing to be rich beyond your wildest dreams and lose your soul for all eternity. Make sure your character is pleasing and acceptable to God. He loves you – show Him some love back.

Blessings from Above …

Advise Airmen of rights before asking questions

Every day supervisors are faced with challenging scenarios and situations that require them to engage in efforts to help their Airmen.
