Kansas

A new era in Air Force air refueling capabilities recently took a giant step forward during a groundbreaking ceremony for the new KC-46A Pegasus at McConnell Air Force Base, which will be the first active duty-led main operating base for the new KC-46A.

Greenland

Approximately 70 Air National Guard Airmen and two ski-equipped LC-130 Hercules recently completed the fourth rotation in the Arctic region to support the National Science Foundation. A group of Airmen and LC-130s head for the Arctic region every year to support the foundation and get real-world training out of their base at Kangerlussuaq.

Germany

Spangdahlem Air Base firefighters hosted and participated in the first Mosel Firefighter Combat Challenge in early July in Ediger-Eller. Firefighters from across Europe came together to compete against each other. That included firefighters from Poland, Slovenia, Great Britain, Canada, France and three U.S. air bases in Europe.

Italy

Teams aboard the MV Cape Ray have begun neutralizing Syrian chemical materials, a Pentagon spokesman recently said. U.S. military and civilian specialists aboard the ship are neutralizing the chemical materials in international waters, and it should take about 60 days.
