EARLY RETIREMENT OFFERED TO SELECT ENLISTED AIRMEN
The Temporary Early Retirement Authority application window will be open April 10–30 to meet current and future mission requirements. Eligible Airmen with 15 to 19 years of service through fiscal year 2012 and in the grades of staff sergeant through master sergeant in overmanned career fields are eligible to apply. PURPLE UP! FOR MILITARY KIDS’ DAY
The Air Force Reserve Teen Leadership Council encourages everyone to recognize April 13, as Purple Up! For Military Kids, all are encouraged to wear purple as a visible way to show support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices. A free military family movie night featuring War Horse (PG-13) will be held, April 14, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Phelan Memorial Library. FREE YMCA MEMBERSHIPS FOR MILITARY CHILDREN
The YMCA Military Outreach Program receives assistance from the Defense Department to pay for military dependent memberships and respite care for military family members. LOCAL STUDENTS TALK TO ASTRONAUTS IN SPACE
Twelve Students from the Tom Wathen Center at Riverside’s Flabob Airport will talk to astronauts in the International Space Station on April 19, at 10 a.m. All are welcome, so please R.S.V.P. and plan to arrive no later than 9:30 a.m. For more information, please contact William Sawin at 951-683-2309.

OPERATION HOMEFRONT OFFERS MONEY MANAGEMENT SEMINARS
Operation Homefront Southern California presents Managing Your Money, a financial literacy seminar April 28, in San Diego and April 29, in Oceanside. Both seminars are from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and May 12, in Twenty-nine Palms from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. They are free and open to all military and their dependents, however, seating is limited so couples must register individually. Limited childcare is available at the Twenty-nine Palms location for those who qualify. VOLUNTEER INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE CENTER OFFERS FREE PREPARATION, FILING
Get your taxes filed for FREE at the March Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Center, located on base in Bldg. 417, behind the Honor Guard building, Monday through Friday and UTA weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Stop by to pick up a personal tax questionnaire in advance if you can. Taxes are filed electronically and refunds should show up in your account in 7-10 business days. For more information, contact them at 951-655-3659.

452D BOMB WING REUNION APRIL 24 IN HEMET
The 452d Bomb Wing will hold a reunion, Tues., April 24, at the Hemet, Calif., Elks Club located at 1305 W. Florida St. The event is scheduled for 10 – 11 a.m. followed by lunch. Ed Whaley is driving 1,200 miles to attend and renew his Korean War acquaintances. Members from the 452d Air Mobility Wing who are interested in the history are invited to attend.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR USAF MARATHON TEAM MARCH RUNNERS
For the second year in a row the 452d Air Mobility Wing is sending a team to Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, for the USAF Marathon. Our team will travel on a C-17 departing March Field Sept. 14 for the Marathon the following day and return via military air on Sept. 16. All active, Guard, Reserve and Retirees are eligible to fly with us. Available seats on the mission are limited to 100, so it’s first-come, first-served. Right now seats are at 50% capacity, so DON’T DELAY!! SENIOR NCOS STEP UP TO ASSIST COMMAND CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT KELLY
A team of senior noncommissioned officers-in-charge have volunteered to fill the shoes of the 452d Air Mobility Wing’s command chief, Ericka Kelly, from March 26 through June 14, during Kelly’s temporary duty for her civilian job. PLANS MADE FOR 7th ANNUAL SALUTE TO VETERANS PARADE
The Salute to Veterans Parade Committee will host its annual parade in the city of Riverside on Saturday, April 21, from 10 a.m. to noon. Parade participants will stage at the Riverside City College parking lots off Ramona Dr. Units will proceed north on Ramona to Magnolia Ave., turn right on Magnolia/Market, right onto 10th St., right again onto Main St. and end two blocks past the historic Riverside County Courthouse in the Jury Parking Lot on Main St. Reviewing stands and announcers will be near the corner of Market and 10th Streets. The 2012 Grand Marshall is retired Brig. Gen. Stan Brown. Parking in downtown Riverside and in the Riverside Community College parking structure on parade day is free. NEXT BUNDLES FOR BABIES WORKSHOP JUNE 12
The Airman and Family Readiness Center will hold its next Bundles for Babies Workshop on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, 2-4 p.m., in the Mission Support Group conference room at 1261 Graeber St, Bldg 2313. The workshop is for all base personnel who are expecting or those with a newborn. Pre-registration is required by e-mailing Valerie Fioretta at valerie.fioretta@us.af.mil.

MODIFICATION TO TUTOR.COM USAGE
The Tutor.com Adult Education Center, College Center and Career Center will no longer be available to active duty Air Force, Army, Marine Corps and deployed National Guard and Reserves adult service members, their spouses or their adult dependent children. The Department of Defense has issued funding modifications to ensure more tutoring sessions are available to dependent children in grades 1-12. GENERAL MCGREGOR’S PROMOTION CEREMONY
All base members are invited to attend Brig. Gen. Udo K. McGregor, 452d Air Mobility Wing commander’s promotion ceremony on Saturday, April 14 at 3 p.m., in hangar 2306. Maj. Gen. Wallace W. Farris, Jr., Commander, 22d Air Force, will preside over the ceremony.

CELEBRATE EARTH DAY
Earth Day will be observed on April 20. The purpose of this event is to inspire awareness of and appreciation for the environment. This year’s Earth Day focus is the re-invigoration of Pollution Prevention (P2), which allows the Air Force to save money, reduce risk, and drive innovation by minimizing waste, using less toxic materials, recycling, and lessening our overall consumption of natural resources. MEETING OF THE INLAND EMPIRE AVIATION ROUNDTABLE
The next meeting of the Inland Empire Aviation Roundtable will be held, April 24, 7 p.m., at the March Field Air Museum, located adjacent to March Air Reserve Base, on 22550 Van Buren Blvd. There will be lively, informal discussions on aviation and aerospace history and developments in the civil and military fields. DISTRACTED DRIVING ENFORCEMENT
Moreno Valley will be executing a “zero tolerance” policy to those operating hand-held cell phones while driving, as part of the Distracted Driving Awareness Month campaign. Drivers who break this law will be cited a minimum of $159, with subsequent tickets costing at least $279. For more info, contact the Moreno Valley Police Department at 951-486-6700.

TRICARE DENTAL PROGRAM UNDER NEW ADMINISTRATION
Metropolitan Life Insurance Company will be the new dental contractor for the TRICARE Dental Program on May 1, 2012. MetLife will manage enrollment, claims processing, and customer service. APPLY FOR FREE MILITARY KIDS SUMMER CAMPS THROUGH APRIL 19
Military families can now apply for the National Military Family Association’s Operation Purple Summer Camp program. The weeklong camps are open to all military children between the ages of 7 to 17 to help them deal with the stresses of war. Children who meet certain deployment criteria and have never attended one of their camps will receive priority. Applications are due by 9 p.m., April 19.
