League of United Latin American Citizens Chapter meets May 5

4-H Military Partnership Program open for registration
Registration for the 4-H Military Partnership Program 2012 camps is now open. They have two camps this summer, Rawhide Ranch for teens, and Camp Ronald McDonald, a camp for special needs youth ages 8-18. FAMCAMPS sites open
Outdoor Recreation would like to announce that all 30 FAMCAMP sites are back open. Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis and come with full hookups and are $15 per night. For more information, please call Outdoor Recreation at 951-655-2816.

Case Lot sale at the March commissary

Reservists not part of early retirement offer
Air Force reservists, including those in the Active Guard and Reserve, are not eligible for the Temporary Early Retirement Authority. Officials state that all components of the Air Force are working together to ensure the total force is prepared for manpower reductions in fiscal year 2013. Idol Competition comes to Moreno Valley
The Moreno Valley, City’s Parks and Community Services Department, will host the 2012 “Moreno Valley Idol” competition during the 4th of July Family Fun Fest celebration. Greater Corona recognizes Armed Forces with free breakfast
The Greater Corona Valley Chamber of Commerce will celebrate their annual Armed Forces recognition on Thursday, May 31, at 6:45 a.m., as part of their Good Morning Corona Valley breakfast. The event will be held at the Eagle Glen Golf Club, 1800 Eagle Glen Parkway, Corona. Breakfast is free for active duty and active Guard and Reserve uniformed personnel; guests pay $15 each. Moreno Valley hosts foreclosure prevention seminar
The City of Moreno Valley is hosting a free foreclosure prevention seminar. This event, in partnership with Housing Opportunities Collaborative of the Inland Empire (HOCIE), will help residents in Moreno Valley and surrounding areas reduce their risk of home foreclosure. The event will be held on May 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Moreno Valley Conference & Recreation Center located at 14075 Frederick Street. Advanced registration is recommended. A team of senior noncommissioned officers-in-charge have volunteered to fill the shoes of the 452d Air Mobility Wing’s command chief, Ericka Kelly, from March 26 through June 14, during Kelly’s temporary duty for her civilian job. March Field Air Museum hosts first Bob Hope commemoration event
The March Field Air Museum is hosting its first Bob Hope commemoration event on May 6 at 4 p.m. “March on Bob Hope” celebrates Bob Hope’s first military performance at the base in 1941. The military style variety show will feature entertainers who toured with Hope. The event will honor two recipients: Buford Johnson, Tuskegee Airman, and Ernest Borgnine, U.S. Navy CPO and academy award winner. For tickets, call Ami Sansweet at 951-902-5123.

Important information for USAF Marathon Team March runners
For the second year in a row the 452d Air Mobility Wing is sending a team to Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, for the USAF Marathon. Our team will travel on a C-17 departing March Field Sept. 14 for the Marathon the following day and return via military air on Sept. 16. All active, Guard, Reserve and Retirees are eligible to fly with us. Available seats on the mission are limited to 100, so it’s first-come, first-served. Right now seats are at 50% capacity, so DON’T DELAY!! Mandatory Commander’s Call Sunday May 6
All military members attending May “A” Unit Training Assembly are required to attend the Commander’s Call on Sunday, May 6, at 2 p.m. in Hanger 2306. If you are unable to attend please inform your supervisor. Topics include ORI/NORI.

Modification to Tutor.com usage
The Tutor.com Adult Education Center, College Center and Career Center will no longer be available to active duty Air Force, Army, Marine Corps and deployed National Guard and Reserves adult service members, their spouses or their adult dependent children. The Department of Defense has issued funding modifications to ensure more tutoring sessions are available to dependent children in grades 1–12. Free YMCA memberships for military children
The YMCA Military Outreach Program receives assistance from the Defense Department to pay for military dependent memberships and respite care for military family members. Operation Homefront offers money management seminars
Operation Homefront Southern California presents Managing Your Money, a financial literacy seminar May 12, in Twenty-nine Palms from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. It is free and open to all military and their dependents, however, seating is limited so couples must register individually. Bundles for Babies rescheduled for June
The Airman and Family Readiness Center will hold its next Bundles for Babies Workshop on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, 2 – 4 p.m., in the Mission Support Group conference room at 1261 Graeber St, Bldg 2313. The workshop is for all base personnel who are expecting or those with a newborn. Pre-registration is required by e-mailing Valerie Fioretta at valerie.fioretta@us.af.mil.
