March Minutes | June 28, 2012

Staff Sergeant Justin R. Wolfe

Air Terminal Operations Craftsman, 452 APSF

Hometown: Yucca Valley, Calif.

0515 Wake up … make coffee and realize I have no milk so I grab my wife’s vanilla meal replacement shake and realize “this is awesome!”

0556 Wake up my 2-year-old and get her dressed, hair and teeth brushed, and ready for day care.

0610 Grab my coffee, buckle my kid in the car seat and head off.

0629 Drop off my daughter at day care, head for work then realize that my ID is in the trunk.

0635 Pull into the gas station across the street from the base and grab my ID from the trunk.

0641 Pull up to work and see passengers already congregating in the lobby waiting for the Space Available flight to Travis AFB and Andrews AFB at 0730.

0705 Start our team meetings, discussing the day’s missions.

0730 I open our doors for the Space Available flight and the only thing I can think of is “Why didn’t I make more COFFEE!!!”

0847 After processing and screening 28 Space A passengers, I radio the bus that the pax are ready to be dropped off at the aircraft.

0857 Answer random, but good, Space A questions from inquisitive passengers. Remember, no question is a dumb question.

0937 I receive an inbound NASA mission. This aircraft, commonly called the Super Guppy, was a sight to see. It looked like a huge plane with a serious headache.

1058 We got the “wheels-up” call on the Super Guppy. Forgot my thirst for coffee, but now I have a hunger for Middle Eastern food.

1137 Arrive at our lunch spot with Master Sgt. Clonkey and Tech. Sgt. Corona to enjoy a beef shawarma sandwich and diet cola.

1200 Re-open the passenger terminal and continue to answer questions regarding Space A travel. I realize that I need to start filling out this day log for the Beacon.

1348 This March Minutes form takes more effort than I thought.

1450 I know there is something else I need to get. Oh yeah, how about a pot of coffee to get ready for tomorrow!

1500 Time for my afternoon run so that I stay Fit to Fight.
