Following March personnel in 130-character micro-messages

Tech. Sgt. Margarita (Margie) Jimenez

Yellow Ribbon Program Manager, 452 FSS

Hometown: Ontario, Ca

0530 Might as well get up, I have already been up four other times since 0325; worried I’m forgetting something or might oversleep. Some Yellow Ribbon attendees came last night but others will not register until this morning.

0715 I hope the coffee is ready, I could use a pick-me-up.

0730 Okay, I have my game face on, time to shine and greet the attendees with a smile and helpful attitude! Wow, what a high-class hotel and venue!

0745 I had a parent ask for the childcare drop point. I replied, “up one floor and to the left…just listen for the loud laughing, jumping and crying.”

0800 Time for breakfast…let’s get these heroes fed!

0820 Hey, wait a minute! Breakfast will end in ten minutes and I have not eaten yet. I have just enough time to grab a quick bite.

0845 Time to get everyone placed in the right sessions before sessions start

0900 Great! Everyone is where they need to be. Can’t rest now, have a snack break in 45 minutes and must prepare for the next session.

1300 Great, the facilitator didn’t show up. Now who is teaching the afternoon workshop? This is why we have a backup! Our staff has knowledge on a variety of topics!

1320 Start ringing those chimes to get the crowd into their workshop sessions.

1405 What, another snack break, it’s no wonder we all gain weight while participating at these events!  Thank goodness the upcoming workshop is on eating healthy and keeping fit!

1530 Time to give away prizes and announce last minute updates.

1600 Clean-up, put-away, throw away, recycle and prepare for our hot wash meeting in 10 minutes.

1730 Whoopie, it was not a long one today! Should I stay in and relax or explore the local culture? Think I’ll enjoy the local culture and re-energize for tomorrow!

2200 I need sleep or I’ll only have half a smile for tomorrow. I have a few sessions until noon, then packing up and heading home. Great people, great place… I love my job with Yellow Ribbon!
