PUSHING UP FOR GLORY

Congratulations to Senior Airman Jason Blinstrub from 452d MXS for winning the March Field push-up competition, Oct. 4, with 135 push-ups. Staff Sgt. 452D AMW MILITARY BALL

EMPLOYER APPRECIATION DAYS POSTPONED

Due to preparations for the upcoming ORI/NORI, the Nov. 3 and 17 Employers’ Appreciation Days are being rescheduled to next quarter. If you submitted a nomination form, please inform your employers of the postponement. You will need to watch The Beacon for the new nomination forms at the beginning of the year and re-submit them. 452D FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT OFFERS DTS LAB

Financial Management will conduct DTS computer labs every unit training assembly, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Building 466. STROLL INTO WINTER THE HEALTHY WAY WITH WEIGHT WATCHERS

All Team March employees and their family members are invited to attend a complimentary Weight Watchers meeting any Thursday at noon at Aces Sports Bar in the Hap Arnold Club to learn how the program works. Current members include civilian, military, men and women. Group members also pair up for walking and other fitness-related activities. Healthy living is easy with this group! CAMP OUT WITH THE GHOSTS OF THE AIRFIELD!

March Field Air Museum will hold its annual Fright Nite Sleep over, Oct. 20 and 21, starting at 6 p.m. This is free event for museum members only. Bring sleeping bags, cots, and/or air mattresses, toiletries, light snacks and small flashlight. One adult must accompany every two children, NO DROP OFF’S. There will be a midnight snack included, plus popcorn and water available for nominal charge.  To reserve your sleeping area, contact Annie Lunetta at 951-902-5949.

BEACON SEEKS OPERATIONAL READINESS INSPECTION STORIES

The Beacon will be running a series of informational articles to help prepare for the Operational Readiness Inspection. If you would like to submit a story to help personnel with one or more aspects of the ORI, please send it 452amw.paworkflow@us.af.mil or darnell.gardner.1@us.af.mil.

SINGLE AIRMAN’S PROGRAM ANNOUNCES TRIPS

The following trips, sponsored by the Airmen & Family Readiness Center, are open to all base personnel, although priority will be given to single Airmen:

  • Nov. 10 – Vertical Rock Climbing at Joshua Tree, capacity 24 (FREE)
  • Nov. 11 – Sailing in San Diego (FREE)
  • Dec. 15 – Horseback Riding, capacity 24 (FREE)
  • Jan. 12 – Shotguns and Single Airmen (shooting competition), capacity 24 (FREE)

NOVEMBER YELLOW RIBBON EVENT OPENS FOR REGISTRATION

Register for the November Yellow Ribbon event. The venue will be held at Tysons Corner, Va., Washington D.C. metropolitan area from Nov. 16 to18. There will be a host of programs, resources, referrals and services to minimize stress on families during all phases of deployment. For more information, contact Tech. Sgt. 2012-2013 FLU SEASON CAMPAIGN STILL ON

The 452nd Aeromedical Squadron will be providing flu shots and mist to military members (on military status) —those over 49-years old must take the shot. Hours of operation are from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, contact Maj. Lorraine Assumma at 951-655-6261.

NEXT BUNDLES FOR BABIES CLASS SCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER

The Airman and Family Readiness Center will hold its next Bundles for Babies Workshop Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 2 to 4 p.m., in the Mission Support Group conference room at Bldg 2313. The workshop is for all base personnel who are expecting or those with a newborn. Pre-registration is required by e-mailing Valerie Fioretta at valerie.fioretta@us.af.mil.

ATTENTION ALL MARCH PERSONNEL

Construction for the new running track and associated buildings is underway at the north end of the base near the softball field. It is imperative that all unauthorized personnel stay out of the area. For everyone’s safety please use the base 1.5-mile track.
