What are your goals for the new year?

Captain Linda Stanfield

Job: Chief of Mission Development/Instructor Pilot
Unit: 912th Air Refueling Squadron
Hometown: Leavenworth, Kan.
Hobbies: Traveling, yoga, hanging out with my husband

Personally, I plan to get more involved with my gardening this coming year. I have already started a collection of succulents and would like to make some upgrades to my outdoor patio. I am currently pursuing a Masters’ degree in Education to satisfy my professional goals. There is an art festival in Laguna Beach, Calif., every year called “Pageant of the Masters” and I intend on offering more of my free time this summer to volunteer – they have some amazing displays and I would love to be a part of making them come to life.

John Florence

Job: Financial Services Officer
Unit: 452 AMW Financial Management
Hometown: Pensacola, Fla.
Hobbies: Coaching children’s basketball, football and playing basketball

First and foremost, before the new year gets here, I plan to take my wife to a nice dinner party to bring the year in right. My major goal is to eat healthier this year as a lifestyle change. Professionally, I will strive to make sure the FM family has time to spend with their families during the holidays. I will continue to coach my community little league football team, the 2012 champions. Those kids will eventually enter high school, so it’s my job to mentor them and make them better students, citizens and athletes.

Patricia Vegas

Job: Operations Technician
Unit: 452 AMW Operational Support Squadron, Flight Records
Hometown: Riverside, Calif.
Hobbies: Reading, walking, and enjoying time with family and friends

My personal goal for the upcoming year is to prepare my children for the next step beyond high school. It is an important time in their lives and I want to afford them all I can to make sure they are ready to take on the world. Professionally I have been blessed with finding employment, so I will continue to gain knowledge for continued job success and commit to service before self. I belong to a great community that routinely volunteers for the betterment of everyone, not just those close to us.
