COMMISSARY HOLIDAY OPERATING HOURS

The holiday operating hours for March Commissary are as follows:

  • Dec. 24, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Dec. 25, CLOSED
  • Dec. 31, 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Jan. 1, 2013, CLOSED

All other days are regular operating hours.

AUTHORIZED GOAL DAYS FOR TEAM MARCH

The 452d Air Mobility Wing commander has authorized the following Goal Days to recognize the accomplishments of Team March members:

  • Dec. 24
  • Christmas Day
  • Dec. 31
  • New Year’s Day

A liberal leave policy is highly encouraged by all members, mission permitting.

INVITATION TO ATTEND

The 452d Air Mobility Wing’s 2013 Annual Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Marriott, 3400 Market Street, Riverside, Calif. Social hour will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., dinner will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and the awards presentation will close out the evening starting at 8:30 p.m. The cost will be $40 per person and money will be collected by squadron first sergeants.

LAST BEACON OF THE YEAR

This is the last Beacon of 2012. The paper will resume publication on January 11, 2013. The deadline for submitting information to the editor is Jan. 7 at noon for that Friday’s edition. We wish all of our readers a happy and safe holiday season.

SINGLE AIRMAN’S PROGRAM SCHEDULE

The following trips, organized by Outdoor Recreation, are open to all base personnel, although priority will be given to single Airmen:

  • Jan. 12 – Shotguns and Single Airmen (shooting competition)
  • Feb. 9 – Motocross at Ocotillo Wells
  • Feb. 16 – Snow tubing at Big Bear

2012-2013 FLU SEASON CAMPAIGN STILL ON

The 452d Aeromedical Squadron will be providing flu shots or mist to military members (on military status) — those more than 49-years old must take the shot. Hours of operation are will be from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, contact Maj. Lorraine Assumma at 951-655-6261.

452D FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT OFFERS DTS LAB

Financial Management will conduct Defense Travel System computer labs every Unit Training Assembly, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Bldg. 466 for anyone who has DTS issues or need help completing a voucher. For more information, contact John Florence at 951-655-5260 or john.florence@us.af.mil.

ATTENTION MARCH PERSONNEL

Construction for the new running track and associated buildings is underway at the north end of the base near the softball field. It is imperative that all unauthorized personnel stay out of the area. For everyone’s safety please use the base 1.5-mile track. For more information, contact Jim Moats, Ground Safety manager at 951-655-4481.

FITNESS CENTER OFFERS TRX TRAINING

The March Fitness Center will be offering an eight-hour TRX training course, Friday, Jan. 4 and two, four-hour sessions on Saturday, Jan. 5. The first day will only be for physical training leaders and Unit Fitness Program Managers, which will focus on how to train others to use fitness equipment, physical training tests and for overall fitness. The second day is geared for anyone who has a desire to learn how to use fitness equipment for his or her personal use. Slots are limited, so reserve with Pamela Smith at 951-655-2284.

ROSE BOWL GAME TICKETS

See the Pac 12 champion Stanford play Wisconsin at the historic Rose Bowl live! Pre-game begins at 1:30, Jan. 1, 2013. Reserve your free tickets—the sign up roster is in the lobby outside the PA office, Bldg. 317. LIMIT four tickets per military member with ID card. PA personnel do not have any more information than what is printed here. When tickets arrive, you will be notified by E-mail where and when to pick them up. Tickets will not be mailed.

SAFETY ADVISORY UPDATE

As printed in The Beacon on Dec. 7, drivers and pedestrians traveling near the Air Traffic Control Tower, Bldg. 1220, should proceed with caution due to construction of the new control tower. Also, the gate entering the flightline at Base Operations (F18) is now closed. All personnel requiring access will sign in at Base Ops and then enter the flightline through the gate at Security Forces, next to Bldg. 470. The gate will be closed for approximately one year. Please contact Airfield Management at 951-655-4402 if you have questions or concerns.
