A&FRC CONDUCTS SEMINAR ON SECURING A FEDERAL JOB

The Airman and Family Readiness Center will conduct “The 10 Steps to a Federal Job” training seminar, Feb. 15, in the Mission Support Group conference room, Bldg. 2313, from 8 a.m. to noon. To register for the event, contact A&FRC at 951-655-5350.

AIRMEN FLY FOR FREE

Single Airmen assigned to March Field are eligible for a free, one-hour flight at the March Air Reserve Base Aero Club. This activity will take place during the months of January and February 2013. For more information or to make reservations contact the March Aero Club at 951-655-3875.

SAFETY ADVISORY CONTINUED FOR 2013

Drivers and pedestrians traveling near the Air Traffic Control Tower, Bldg. 1220 should proceed with caution due to the construction of the new tower. In addition, the gate entering the Flightline at Base Ops (F18) is now closed. All personnel needing access will still sign in at Base Ops, then enter the Flightline through the gate at Security Forces (Bldg. 470). The gate will be closed for approximately a year.

Transition assistance program slots available

Los Angeles Air Force Base will conduct fiscal year 2013 TAP classes for interested military and family members. The following dates are available:

  • Jan. 14–18
  • Feb. 11–15
  • Mar. 11–15
  • Apr. 8–12
  • May 13–17
  • Jun. 10–14
  • Jul. 15–19
  • Aug. 12–16
  • Sept. 16–20

Reservists will not be reimbursed for travel or per diem. To make reservations, call 310-653-5428.

INVITATION TO ATTEND

The 452d Air Mobility Wing’s 2013 Annual Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Marriot, 3400 Market Street, Riverside, Calif. Social hour will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., dinner from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and the awards presentation will close out the evening starting at 8:30 p.m. The cost will be $40 per person and payments will be collected by squadron first sergeants.

SIGN UP FOR BUNDLES FOR BABIES WORKSHOP

The Airman and Family Readiness Center will hold its next Bundles for Babies Workshop Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., in the Mission Support Group Conference Room, Bldg. 2313. The workshop is for all base personnel who are expecting or for those with a newborn. Pre-registration is required by calling the A&FRC at 655-5350.

SINGLE AIRMAN’S PROGRAM SCHEDULE

The following free trips, sponsored by the Airmen & Family Readiness Center, are open to all base personnel, although priority will be given to single Airmen:

  • Jan. 12 – Shotguns and Single Airmen (shooting competition)
  • Feb. 9 – Motocross at Ocotillo Wells
  • Feb. 16 – Snow tubing at Big Bear

452D FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT OFFERS DTS LAB

Financial Management will conduct DTS computer labs every Unit Training Assembly, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Building 466. START THE NEW YEAR WITH US FOR WEIGHT LOSS SUCCESS

All March employees, friends and family are invited to attend a Weight Watchers meeting any Thursday at Aces Sports Bar the Hap Arnold Club to learn how the program works. Construction for the new running track and associated buildings is underway at the north end of the base near the softball field. It is imperative that all unauthorized personnel stay out of the area. For everyone’s safety please use the base 1.5-mile track. 2012-2013 FLU SEASON CAMPAIGN STILL ON

The 452nd Aeromedical Squadron will be providing flu shots and mist to military members (on military status) — those more than 49 years old must take the shot.
