Wing Top 3 partners with Habitat for Humanity Riverside to build home for 452AMW Airman

by Master Sgt. Gale Mears-Paulson
452 AMW Aeromedical Staging Squadron

Over the years, the March Air Reserve Base Air Force Sergeants Association, Chapter 1360, has donated man hours to (re)building homes for our local community through Habitat for Humanity Riverside.

The March Top 3 is currently planning ways to take this invaluable program a step further for wing personnel. Recently, they partnered with local organizations to raise awareness for the “Own a Habitat Home” program, with hopes of identifying Airmen who qualify for assistance. When a qualified Airman has been identified and land/material grants have been acquired, Top 3 will proceed to donate man-hours to help (re)build the home project.

Airmen must meet the below minimum eligibility requirements:

  1. Must demonstrate need
  2. Be low-income, earning between 30-80% of area median income for Riverside County (http://www.habitatriverside.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/NSP-Traditional-income-chart-7-11.pdf)
  3. Must demonstrate financial responsibility by having a steady income and acceptable credit (Credit Resource – http://www.habitatriverside.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/CreditResources.pdf)
  4. Willing to partner with Habitat for Humanity by completing sweat equity hours and attend homebuyer education courses
  5. Must be a citizen or permanent legal resident of the United States
  6. Willing to live/move within Habitat for Humanity Riverside servicing area
  7. Must save $500 as a down payment to cover closing costs

If you meet the minimum qualifications above, please complete the Habitat for Human application at www.habitatriverside.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Prequalification-Application-Rubidoux-English-2012.pdf and submit to cmorgando@habitatriverside.org.
