March Clinic Closed During Sept. Joint UTA

The Clinic will be closed during the joint UTA, Sept. 7. Members deploying in September must take care of their medical processing needs during the August UTA’s. For more information call 951-655-7793.

American mixed martial artist, Josh Burkman, aka: “The People’s Warrior”, will be at the March Main Exchange on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 11:00 – 1:00, signing autographs, posing for photos and providing an MMA demonstration.

Celebrate Summer by Fishing For Free Sept. 7

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is offering anglers a free day of fishing on Saturday, Sept. 7, the weekend following Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2. All fishing regulations remain in effect. For more information on free fishing days, go to www.dfg.ca.gov and enter the search term “fish for free” in the search box. The August issue of Citizen Airman is now available on the web at http://www.citamn.afrc.af.mil/. The print version will be available Aug. 7.

March Field Museum Searching for Hidden Treasures

The March Field Air Museum staff is asking family members of war veterans to search their attics, garages and other storage areas for wartime memorabilia. The museum’s Find Our Hidden Treasures campaign has begun for the month of July and museum staff would like for you to consider donating your items for display purposes. MARCH COMMISSARY CLOSED MONDAYS

The March ARB Commissary is now closed Mondays due to furloughs caused by sequestration. This schedule will be in effect until Sept. 30. Operating hours for the remaining days have not changed.

MARCH TAX CENTER EXTENDS HOURS

The March ARB Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Center will remain open for amending income tax returns and filing prior year returns. WINGMAN DAY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The 452nd Force Support Squadron is looking for volunteers to assist with Wingman Day, Sept. 7. They need referees, first aid support and event monitors. Sign up by calling 655-3507.

TRANSITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM SLOTS AVAILABLE

ROA Meetings

The Reserve Officers Association, Chapter 11, will hold a meeting on both the August A & B UTAs at 5p.m. at the March Field Air Museum. Col. Samuel Mahaney, 452 AMW commander will be the guest speaker. The ROA is open to all reserve and guard officers. For more information call 619-750-5168

SAFETY ADVISORY

Drivers and pedestrians traveling near the Air Traffic Control Tower, Bldg. 1220, should proceed with caution due to the construction of the new tower. In addition, the gate entering the Flightline at Base Ops (F18) is now closed. All personnel needing access will still sign in at Base Ops, then enter the Flightline through the gate at Security Forces (Bldg. 470).

Information survey targets Reservists and Guardsmen

The Secretary of the Air Force Public Affairs office has recruited a private research firm to begin conducting surveys regarding where airmen get information. This survey is focusing on Reservists and Guardsmen. If members of your unit ask about being contacted, please let them know this survey is officially sanctioned.

Commissary Vendor Stockers Needed

Various industry representatives are looking for vendor stockers to stock product in the Commissary at night. If you are interested, come in to the Commissary and ask the ID desk for the Vendor Log Book. Enter your information and an industry representative will contact you as needed.
