March Clinic Closed During Sept. Joint UTA

The Clinic will be closed during the joint UTA, Sept. 7. Members deploying in September must take care of their medical processing needs during the August UTA’s. For more information call 951-655-7793.

Celebrate Summer by Fishing For Free Sept. 7

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is offering anglers a free day of fishing on Saturday, Sept. 7, the weekend following Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2. All fishing regulations remain in effect. For more information on free fishing days, go to www.dfg.ca.gov and enter the search term “fish for free” in the search box. March Field Museum Searching for Hidden Treasures

The March Field Air Museum staff is asking family members of war veterans to search their attics, garages and other storage areas for wartime memorabilia. WINGMAN DAY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The 452nd Force Support Squadron is looking for volunteers to assist with Wingman Day, Sept. 7. They need referees, first aid support and event monitors. Sign up by calling 655-3507.

SAFETY ADVISORY

Drivers and pedestrians traveling near the Air Traffic Control Tower, Bldg. 1220, should proceed with caution due to the construction of the new tower. In addition, the gate entering the Flightline at Base Ops (F18) is now closed. All personnel needing access will still sign in at Base Ops, then enter the Flightline through the gate at Security Forces (Bldg. 470).

Dept. of Veterans Affairs to Offer Benefits Briefings

Representatives from the Department of Veterans Affairs will be at March Sept. 8 to provide a briefing about benefits available to military members and their families. Those interested in attending the briefing can sign up by calling the Airman and Family Readiness Center at 951-655-5350

ROA Meeting to Host 452 AMW/CC As Guest Speaker

The Reserve Officers Association, Chapter 11, will hold a meeting on Aug. 17 at 5p.m. at the March Field Air Museum. Col. Samuel Mahaney, 452 AMW commander will be the guest speaker. The ROA is open to all reserve and guard officers. For more information call Dale Santee at 619-869-2730

Transition Assistance Program Slots Available

Los Angeles Air Force Base will conduct TAP classes for those interested military members and their families. Dates are:

  • Aug. 12 to 16 Sept. 9 to 13
  • Oct. 7 to 11 Nov. 4 to 8 Dec. 9 to 13

Note: Members must have pre-separation counseling prior to attending these classes. Reservists will not be reimbursed for travel or per diem. To make reservations, call 310-653-5428

First Sergeant’s Council Remembrance Run

The First Sergeant’s Council will sponsor the 3rd Annual Remembrance Run on Sept. 7 beginning at 6:30 a.m. Individuals and Teams are encouraged to participate by registering for the event at Americaskidsrun.org.
