Maj. Tina Tsui, commander, 452nd Force Support Squadron, presents the 452nd Security Forces Squadron with the Intramural Softball championship trophy. The SFS beat the 452nd Air Mobility Wing team in the final game 16-4 and finished the season with 12 wins and 4 losses.

Intramural sports programs have long been a staple of extracurricular activities for men and women of the Armed Forces. On any given day, on bases all around the world, you are sure to find teams of people engaged in friendly competition and striving for the same goal – to earn bragging rights as the best team on base.

Last week that right was earned by the 452nd Security Forces Squadron as they defeated the 452nd Air Mobility Wing in the championship softball game. The win marks the second year in a row they have been named base champions with the intramural softball program on March Air Reserve Base.

The March ARB intramural sports program includes basketball, volleyball, sand volleyball, softball, golf and bowling. There is no cost to the member, for most sports, and the program is open to dependents, civilian DOD and contractors with valid DOD ID. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and out of high school.

Pamela Smith, Fitness Director with the March fitness center encourages members to sign up and participate. “It’s good for unit camaraderie and it’s good for your health.” said Smith.
