Chaplain’s Corner – September 6, 2013

I am not an expert on war and politics. Perhaps you know much more on these subjects than I do. As an Airman, I sincerely hope to be more knowledgeable as my time and experience grows. Thus far in my life, those experiences pale in comparison to more seasoned veterans, but that is why I am thankful and humbled to be writing these words.

I want to take this moment to pause and reflect, especially on the past 12 years, that our service men and women have dedicated their time, skills, passion – their very lives – to serve and protect our country. As we all take a moment to remember September 11, 2001, I am deeply grateful and proud of all who have sacrificed for our country since that day. This was by no means, an easy road to travel. And so, from the deepest part of me, I must express my gratitude. Thank you to all who went before me and accepted the task that was given.

To all who continue to serve: thank you. We have a journey ahead of us with challenges to face, but I am thankful to be serving with you! Please take this moment to honor and encourage one another. When we continue to support each other, we continue this journey with strength and dignity. Be encouraged, and know that your service and dedication will not be forgotten!
