THANKSGIVING MEALS FOR MARCH WORKERS

Moreno Valley VFW Post 8547 will provide Thanksgiving Day Meals to all 24-hour work agencies on base during Thanksgiving. In order to notify and involve as many people as possible, they are asking for points of contact for agencies who will be working shift through Thanksgiving. Their goal is to instill overall morale and to thank the men & women of March ARB for their continued commitment and support. FLU SHOT VACCINES AVAILABLE

A base-wide, mass immunization will be conducted during the October B UTA weekend at the 452 Maintenance Group, Bldg. 355, 2355 Graeber St., from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Vaccinations will continue during November and December UTA weekends.

Temp volunteers

Public Affairs is looking for those individuals who would like to volunteer to visit a local middle schools for a couple of morning hours to discuss the importance of education with students, motivate them and answer their questions. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY NOVEMBER 9

The March Aviation Society (MAS) is looking for 60-70 volunteers to work their Brew Fest on Nov. 9, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the March Field Air Museum. Volunteers who work a minimum of three hours will receive a food voucher. Volunteers must wear black bottoms and a white collared shirt. MARCH RESERVE/GUARD FORCE SUPPORT SQUADRONS CLOSE WEDNESDAYS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

The 452nd Force Support Squadron was selected as a test base for the Secretary of the Air Force-directed 3-1 Functional Integration program. “3-1 Integration” is the sharing of common Personnel and Services resources at locations with more than one FSS (active duty, AFRC or ANG). At March Field, the 452nd FSS is the lead unit, with the 163rd FSS collocating where possible to provide “one stop shopping” to all customers, no matter what component they belong to.

In order to prepare for 3-1 implementation, the 452nd and 163rd FSS units will be closed all day on Wednesdays, effective immediately. All FSS sections are affected, with the exception of the The Airman & Family Readiness Center which will be closed all day on Thursdays. If you have any questions, please call 951-655-3639.

FINANCE CUSTOMER SERVICE HOURS CHANGE FOR UTAS

Beginning October 5, 2013, the Finance Customer Service hours will change on Unit Training Assembly weekends to 8:30 a.m. – noon on Saturdays and Sundays. Weekday hours will remain the same.

MILITARY BALL SET FOR NOV. 2

The 452 AMW Military Ball is scheduled for Nov. 2, 5:30 p.m. – midnight at the Pechanga Resort & Casino, 45000 Pechanga Pkwy, Temecula. Tickets are on sale for $65 each through Oct. 20. Hotel reservations can be made at the Pechanga Resort & Casino for $189+tax per room. There are approximately 35 rooms available and they are going fast. Reserve online at www.pechanga.com by entering group/block code SUSAF452 or call Hotel Reservations at 877-711-2946, press 1 and identify yourself as being with the “USAF 452 AMW Military Ball group” or by using the group code SUSAF452. RV rates are also available by calling the resort. If you need childcare, please specify when purchasing your tickets.

BASE FOD WALK SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 16

The next Base Foreign Object Walk is scheduled for Oct. 16 with a show time of 7:15 a.m. sharp at the old Air Passenger Terminal building on the flight line side. Please bring a plastic trash bag, like the one in your shop/office trash can. The walk will begin at 7:30 a.m. Be on time.

Because the access gate at the Air Traffic Control Tower is closed, you will need to use alternate gates as much as possible. Please limit foot traffic through Base Operations. Due to construction in this area, parking is very limited so carpooling is encouraged. Be diligent if walking or driving in this area as there is heavy equipment and semi-truck traffic traversing this reduced-access, traffic zone. Safety first! Thank you for your support!

Friendly Family Care Reminder:

You need a family care plan if you are a single parent, dual military with dependents, or a unique family situation. Please remember to stop by customer service to update your family care status as soon as it changes (i.e. marriage, divorce). Please see your First Sergeants for more information.

VA BENEFITS BRIEFING DECEMBER 8

There is a VA benefits briefing scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 8. Sign in is at 7:30 a.m. and the class is from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with an hour lunch break and then again from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. You must be able to attend all six hours of the class. This class is targeted for Reserve personnel assigned to the 452nd Air Mobility Wing, who have had the three-hour pre-separation briefing, and Reserve personnel going on or coming off of 180 days of consecutive orders for deployments, school or training. Others may attend as well and no one will be turned away. When you call Airman & Family Readiness Center at 951-655-5350 to sign up, you will be told the location of the class. Leave your name and number for a return call if needed. Bring two pencils or pens, a notepad and a clipboard as the venue may have no desks. Laptops, etc. can also be used.

Bundles for Babies Workshop Offered

The Airman and Family Readiness Center will host its next Bundles for Babies Workshop on Friday, 15 November, 2-4 p.m., in the Mission Support Group Conference Room. The workshop is for all base personnel who are expecting or those with a newborn. Pre-registration is required by e-mailing valerie.fioretta@us.af.mil .

AMC MAGAZINE NOW ONLINE

The Mobility Forum, Air Mobility Command’s magazine, is changing its distribution process. The entire magazine can now be found on AMC’s public webpage at www.amc.af.mil. In addition, articles and postings are featured on AMC’s social media sites at www.twitter.com/airmobilitycmd and www.facebook.com/theofficialairmobilitycommand, with further information on YouTube, Flickr, and RSS. Only a limited number of hard copies will now be printed. If your unit requires a printed copy, contact the 452 AMW Safety office at 951-655-4567 to be added to the distribution list.

SARC Offers Keeping Cool Class

Class Title: Keeping Your Cool; A Practical Approach to Understanding and Counteracting Stress
