Air Force Reserve Teen Leadership Council 2014 accepting applications

Applications for the Air Force Reserve Teen Leadership Council are being accepted until Nov. 22, 2013, and must include one letter of recommendation. Those interested may request an application from Ms. Penny Dale, youth specialist at 4-H/AF Partnership, Air Force Personnel Center by e-mailing her at penny.dale@us.af.mil.

The Air Force Reserve Teen Leadership Council is a national group of teens selected to represent the AFR teens in giving a perspective in the matters that affect the geographically dispersed youth.

Through their work they provide a youth perspective in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of AFR Youth Programs; identify issues that affect AFR youth, develop effective strategies and implement solutions to address the issues; speak on behalf of AFR youth at selected functions and programs and provide leadership at AFR youth programs.

The AFR TLC members are required to attend the AFR TLC Retreat, Jan. 2-5, 2014, in San Antonio, Texas. Member’s expenses are paid by the organization. They are also required to participate in regularly scheduled conference calls and discussions; lead and assist with child and youth programs at Air Force Reserve Command Yellow Ribbon events, with a minimum of one annually; identify and accomplish at least one TLC goal or project per year to strengthen AFR Youth Programs and be in 9-11th grade at the time of the application.
