UTA WING COMMANDER’S CALL

The 452nd Air Mobility Wing will hold a Commander’s Call on Sunday, March 9 and Sunday, March 23 at 2 p.m. in Bldg. 452. Attendance is strongly recommended.

MARCH MAIN GATE CLOSED!

The March ARB Main Gate (Cactus Gate) is closed through Friday, March 21, 2014, due to the Moreno Valley Cactus widening project.

The Riverside Gate will act as the alternate main gate during that time and will be open 24 hours a day; seven days a week. The Riverside gate will be utilized for general base access.

The Meyer gate will be open Monday – Friday only, (24 hours a day; 5 days a week) and on both the “A” and “B” UTA’s. The Meyer gate will be strictly used for visitors, contractors and commercial deliveries.

The temporary Visitor Control Center will be located at Bldg. T2417 (adjacent to the Meyer gate over-watch) and will be open from Monday through Friday and on Saturdays of the “A” and “B” UTA’s between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

If you live south of March ARB, please be prepared for minor traffic delays as you enter Cactus from Northbound I-215. Please consider exiting at Alessandro or Harley Knox and please be patient. Plan accordingly for these delays.

AIR FORCE FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICES ASSESSMENT SURVEY

The Air Force Personnel Center has contracted Customer Service Insights (CFI) Group to conduct a survey at 63 installations worldwide. The survey will randomly select Airmen by sending out an e-mail invite referencing CFI in the subject box. Selected participants are encouraged to complete the survey as it will provide senior Air Force leaders an honest view of the food service being provided.

MARCH ARB COMMISSARY COUPON CONTEST

The March Commissary is giving away prizes to the customer who uses the most coupons in a single shopping transaction from 16 March thru 15 April 2014. Prizes include a $200 gift card, $150 gift card, a $50 gift basket, a $25 men’s gift basket, a $25 ladies gift basket and a mountain bike. SALUTE TO HEROES MARCH 14 AT MURRIETA MESA HIGH SCHOOL

The Veterans Supplemental Support Network is sponsoring a Salute to Heroes Cheer and Dance show, Friday, March 14, 2014, 5-9 p.m. at Murrieta Mesa High School, 24801 Monroe Ave., Murrieta, Calif. They are seeking for volunteers to work the snack bar and staging. If interested, send an E-mail to megan.crusher.1@us.af.mil. There will be free pizza and wings to all military, veterans and first responders and their direct dependents (up to three), as well as donated gift cards from restaurants, movie theaters and more. There will also be a casual education and employment resource expo prior to the 7-9 p.m. show. Performances for the show will be supported by more than 10 Southern California high school teams.

MARCH VITA CENTER NEEDS MORE VOLUNTEERS

The March Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Center is open for business by appointment only. To schedule an appointment to have your state/federal taxes filed, call 951-655-3659. They are still looking for volunteers to donate four hours per week to help prepare taxes.

*To volunteer, visit https://www.linklearncertification.com/d and create an account. Then complete five of the seven training modules listed under the “military” tab. You do not need to complete the HSA and COD modules.

*Submit the certificates to david.shore@us.af.mil or and let him know which days and hours you are available to volunteer during the week.

YELLOW RIBBON PROGRAM

The Air Force Reserve command Yellow Ribbon Program helps maintain resiliency during all stages of deployment and is paramount to the morale and welfare of our Airmen and families. The AFRC YRP is a series of events designed to provide members and families with essential resources prior to departure (pre-deployment), a level of stability and support while deployed (during deployment), and successful re-integration techniques after the deployment cycle ends (post deployment). ONE ‘TR’ POSITION OPEN AT A&FRC

The Airman & Family Readiness Center is looking for an outstanding NCO who wants to enhance his or her military career by helping Airmen and their families achieve mission readiness through personal and family readiness.

A&FRC NCO is a Special Duty Identifier (SDI 8C000) and there is no need to cross-train from your current AFSC. There is no formal training school to attend. Traditional Reservists who are interested in interviewing for the position must call the A&FRC to set up an appointment, hold a 7 or 9 skill level in any AFSC and hold the grade of E-6 or E-7 (Members who are E-5’s must have time-in-grade, time-in-service and be eligible and ready to promote.) If your goal is to become a first sergeant, this SDI provides great exposure to resources and services available to military members and their families. RESERVE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION ANNUAL CONVENTION

The Reserve Officers Association (ROA) is holding its annual convention April 4-6, 2014 at the Holiday Inn Bayside in San Diego. ROA is open to all officers – commissioned, non- commissioned and warrant. This convention is your forum to bring forward issues regarding your chapter, how the department can assist you and most importantly, participate in discussions of how we can accomplish ROA’s mission of ensuring an adequate national security.

Speakers at this year’s convention include: Congressman Duncan Hunter; Brig. Gen. (ret.) Gerald Griffin, who will speak about PTSD; Brig. Gen. (ret.) Michael Silva, ROA National President Bert Upson, author of “On A Clear Day”; and Adjutant General California Military Department, Maj. Gen. David S. Baldwin. A joint officer professional development seminar will also be conducted in conjunction with the convention.

MILITARY SPOUSE eMENTOR PROGRAM

The Military Spouse eMentor Program has created a dynamic information sharing, learning and support community for military spouses everywhere. This cutting-edge, online program allows spouses to receive personalized job search/career guidance, advice, support and inspiration from more experienced spouses, career mentors and veteran-friendly employers.

It is open to all spouses or widow(er)s of military members and veterans. Divorced spouses are also welcome. RIVERSIDE GATE OPEN LIMITED HOURS ON UTAS

Security Forces would like to remind everyone that the Riverside Gate, on Riverside Drive, near Bldg. 601 (4th Combat Camera Squadron), is open on the A and B Unit Training Assembly weekends as follows: 5:30-7:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., 3:30-5:30 p.m.
