CONCERT FOR HEROES

The Concert for Heroes symphonic concert will be held at the Riverside National Cemetery amphitheater July 3. The concert begins at 7:30 pm with pre-concert entertainment starting an hour prior. The event is free of charge; appropriate business casual attire is required.

BARBER NEEDED

March ARB is looking for a barber to fill an opening at the base barber shop. Interested applicants must contact King Bishop at 951-655-3227 by 1 p.m. on July 14. Requirements for the position can be found on the contracting opportunities board located at the Visitor Control Center. The barber shop will remain closed until the position is filled.

COSTA MESA YELLOW RIBBON EVENT

The Air Force Reserve Command Yellow Ribbon Program invites you to a Regional Yellow Ribbon Training event to be held in Costa Mesa, California, July 18-20. This event will include activities, referral information, education, vendor booths and interactive breakout sessions that span the concerns and issues faced by reservists and their loved ones before and after a deployment, including: Tricare, Airmen & Family Readiness, ESGR, legal assistance for wills & powers of attorney, Military Family Life Consultants, Personal Financial Consultants, and more. ROA MEETING TOMMOROW

Reserve Officers Association (ROA) Chapter 11 will hold a meeting on June 28 at the March Field Air Museum. Food and drink will be provided. All non-commissioned, warrant and commissioned offers are invited to attend. The ROA will hold its National Convention in Long Beach, California July 23 – 26. The Department of the Golden West will hold its Fall Council Meeting at Nellis AFB, Nevada from September 26 – 27.

OUTDOOR REC STARTS FACEBOOK PAGE

The March ARB Outdoor Recreation staff has started their own Facebook page to keep you informed of all the specials they have available in the way of sales, tickets, tours and adventures. You can find them and like them at: www.facebook.com/marchodradventure.

AERO CLUB FAMILY DAY

The March Aero Club will be hosting a Family Day BBQ, Saturday, June 28 from10 a.m. – 3 p.m. All personnel with base access and their families are welcome. There will aircraft displays, pilots available to answer any questions about the aircraft and plenty of hot dog and hamburgers for all. If you have every dreamed of flying a plane or are a seasoned pilot, stop on by and check out what the March Aero Club has to offer! The Aero Club is located in Hangar 355 on the flight line side. WATER PARK TICKETS AVAILABLE AT ITT

March Field ITT now has tickets available for two popular Southern California water parks, Raging Waters in San Dimas and Splash Kingdom in Redlands. Raging Waters tickets are $29 for all, Splash Kingdom tickets are $21 for adults and $14 for children ages 3 – 10.

Hire Our Heroes (HOH) will provide a free, round-trip ticket to any transitioning veteran going on a job interview anywhere in the country. HOH will provide a free round trip airline ticket to any transitioning veteran interviewing to secure a job without the means to travel to and from the interview. This allows transitioning veterans the opportunity to interview and secure opportunities prior to making the final transition back into the civilian world. CASTLE PARK, MARITIME MUSEUM TICKETS AVAILABLE

Ticket and Tours is now selling tickets to Castle Park in Riverside and the Maritime Museum in San Diego. Castle Park tickets are $16 each. Cost includes unlimited rides, unlimited miniature golf and all day access to the water park. The San Diego Maritime Museum tickets are $13 for adults and $9 for children ages 6-17. When ordering a sandwich, you can request a small side salad or a piece of fruit instead of fries or onion rings. It may be a small change toward a healthier you, but it’s a change none-the-less.
