Hang gliding

Henry Frye, 452nd Force Support Squadron employee, participates in tandem hang gliding Aug. 16 in Devore, California. Participants soared with certified instructors, free of charge, thanks to the Single Airman’s Program Initiative, which provides the FSS resources that foster a strong culture, mission and sense of community for single Airmen by providing a wide variety of social and recreation opportunities.

NOTIFICATION OF DEATH

Colonel Russell A. Muncy, 452nd Air Mobility Wing commander regretfully announces the death of Tech. Sgt. Steven A. Fraas, 452nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. Anyone having claims against or indebtedness to the estate of Tech. Sgt. Fraas should contact Maj. Katrine Waterman at 951-655-2442.

2014 MILTARY BALL – “A LEGACY FOR THE FUTURE/452ND BOMBARDMENT GROUP”

The 2014 Military Ball will be here soon! This year it will be held in the newly-renovated Riverside Convention Center, and the theme is “A Legacy for the Future/452nd Bombardment Group.” This will be a fantastic evening and one you do not want to miss. BONE MARROW DRIVE

The Air Force Reserve Command is holding a Bone Marrow Drive outside the base fitness center on Dekay Ave., Saturday, Sept. 13, 12:30 – 3 p.m. You could be the match that saves the life of a Team March member and/or family member. The test is quick, easy and painless!

COMMISSARY CUSTOMER APPRECIATION/CASE LOT SALE

TELECOMMUTE AND LAPTOPS

Important guidelines required for DOD employees who telecommute using a government laptop can be found on the \\rivfs21 drive, Information Assurance\Telework Info. Laptops are considered mobile devices and require a completed AF Form 4433: US Air Force Unclassified Wireless Mobile Device User Agreement and AF Form 1297: Temporary Issue Receipt be on file. In addition, you need to have a DD Form 2946, Telework Agreement (IA modified) on file. There is a list of references on page two of that form that coincides with a checklist located in the drive listed above which must be completed prior to telecommuting. HAP ARNOLD CLUB RESCHEDULES MURDER MYSTERY

The Hap Arnold Club’s Murder Mystery Dinner has been rescheduled to Oct. 18, so get your reservations in before the event sells out. Call 951-655-4920.

HAP ARNOLD CLUB ‘NAME THAT DISH’ CONTEST

The Hap Arnold Club is holding a “Name that Dish” contest. The contest will run for six consecutive months with a new dish to name each month. The first contest is on now and runs through Sept. 10. The Club entry forms can be found at the Club with the current name of the dish on each form. All dishes are available at the Back Street Café in case you want to try them before giving them a name. Ballot boxes are located by the entry forms at the Back Street Café and at the Club’s cashier’s cage. Each consecutive contest will begin on the 11th of the month and close on the 10th of the following month. Winners will receive four tickets to the Aces Comedy Club (a $60 value!), so be sure to include your name and number on your entries. Good luck!

2014 AMERICA’S KIDS 5K /ANNUAL 1ST SERGEANT’S 5K REMEMBRANCE RUN

Please join us for the 2014 America’s Kids 5K Run/Annual First Sergeant’s 5K Remembrance Run at March Air Reserve Base on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014 at 7 a.m. Register at http://www.americaskidsrun.org/events_app.php?action=eventview&cid=3495. Online registration guarantees you a T-shirt. On the day of the run, sign up begins at 6 a.m. at the roadway across from the air traffic control tower on Graeber St. Although the event is FREE, there is a suggested donation of $10 with all of the proceeds benefitting the Airman’s Relief Fund, not to mention the coveted 1st Sgt’s Cup for organizations that contribute $100 or more to compete. FINAL REC ON AND SINGLE AIRMAN EVENTS FOR THE SEASON

RecOn is an Air Force-funded program through Outdoor Recreation to build and maintain mission-ready Airmen. RecOn provides a wide range of outdoor adventure-based activities for free or at very little cost to military personnel. The following are upcoming RecOn events:

• September 27: Couples only Hot Air Ballooning in Temecula.
