Power Outage on station

During the week of 2 thru 6 September 2012, the Installation & Logistics Department will transfer the air station’s electrical distribution system to a new power distribution point of connection. During this transition period station personnel will experience the loss of electrical power to their work centers, barracks, military family housing, MCCS facilities, dining hall and other facilities. The electrical system transfer will occur over a period of six days. During this period your assistance is needed to protect government and personal property during each phase of the planned electrical outage. During the scheduled outage for each of the barracks, the building air conditioning system will not be operating. The duration of the outage is scheduled to last approximately four to eight hours depending upon the circuit. Personnel are asked to unplug all televisions, game systems and other personally owned electronic devices. The dates and times of the outages will be posted on the webpage as well as the Facebook page.


Pay It Forward, Give Blood on Friday

Looking for a way to help others in the local community to include your own family?  The United Blood Service will be on station in the gym Frid, Aug. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to hold a blood drive.  All blood types are needed but especially those with type O-negative because this type is given to people in emergencies.


Stork Club – A Play Morning for Infants 12 Months and Under and Their Parents

Starting September 6, 2012, parents and their infants are invited to meet every Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in Bldg. 645 (where the Thrift Store is) in room number 105. This is a wonderful way to meet other moms (dads are welcome, too) and ask questions about your baby, nutrition, development, or whatever is on your mind!!  Please contact New Parent Support Program at (928) 269-2308 if you would like more information.


Civic Center Photos Sought

The Yuma Civic Center is seeking photos and stories of family events held at the facility over the years as part of a showcase taking place at this year’s Wedding and Quinceañera Expo. The Wedding & Quinceañera Expo, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Civic Center, 1440 W. Desert Hills Drive, will feature among other things a slide show of past events. Those who loan or submit a copy of a photo of their special Civic Center occasion will receive a VIP pass to the Expo and are invited to be a part of this celebration. The Civic Center will accept pictures in all forms: prints, slides, CDs, email. original prints or copies will be returned in the manner they were received immediately following the Expo. Arizona Voters Update

Arizona State Primary Elections are scheduled for Tues, Aug. 28, 2012.  The county recorder’s office has extended its hours of operation to include being open on Sat. and Sun., Aug. 25 and 26 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to accommodate voters who have not requested an early ballot via mail or who will not be able to appear at the voting center on Election Day.  This early voting opportunity will also be made available the weekend prior to the General Election on Nov. 6.

Eligibility Requirements: Active Duty, retired service members, MCAS employees, dependent family members and sponsored guests.
