Power Outage on Station
During the week of 2 thru 6 September 2012, the Installation & Logistics Department will transfer the air station’s electrical distribution system to a new power distribution point of connection. During this transition period station personnel will experience the loss of electrical power to their work centers, barracks, military family housing, MCCS facilities, dining hall and other facilities. The electrical system transfer will occur over a period of six days. During this period your assistance is needed to protect government and personal property during each phase of the planned electrical outage. During the scheduled outage for each of the barracks, the building air conditioning system will not be operating. The duration of the outage is scheduled to last approximately four to eight hours depending upon the circuit. Personnel are asked to unplug all televisions, game systems and other personally owned electronic devices. The dates and times of the outages will be posted on the Yuma.usmc.mil webpage as well as the Facebook page.
