2012 Quail and Small Game Camp
The 2012 Quial and Small Game Camp sponsored by The Yuma Valley Rod & Gun Club, Southwest Arizona HPC and The Arizona Game & Fish Department, is scheduled for Oct. 19-21. The camp is open to junior hunters age 17 years and under, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.All participants 14 and older must have a current Aizona hunting licenses. Arizona hunting licenses are not required for junior hunters age 13 and under as long as accompanying parent or guardian is licensed. Limited to the first 35 junior hunters. Refundable $40 registration fee which includes meals for one junior and adult. The camp will be held at Yuma’s game management unit #41. Navy Birthday Meal
In Celebration of the 237th Navy Birthday, the Mess Hall will serve a special meal on Oct. 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This meal will be open to all active duty, retired, dependents, DOD and MCCS employees aboard the Air Station. The meal will include Grilled Steak w/mushrooms and onions, Lobster tail, fried shrimp, baked potatoes, corn on the cob, green beans, salad bar, shrimp cocktail, deviled eggs, Cheesecake and birthday cake. The price for this meal will be $7.50 for all non meal card holders. The Mess Hall does now accepts credit cards.
Fleet Reserve Association
The Fleet Reserve Association is establishing a Yuma branch. The FRA is an association of Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard personnel, active duty, retired and reserve dedicated in attaining and protecting the rights and benefits of all military personnel and their families. Gathering of American Indian Veterans
The Coalition of American Indian Veterans and the Tribal Veterans Organizations is hosting the 6th Annual Gathering of American Indian Veterans at the Casino Del Sol Conference Center in Tucson, Ariz., Oct. 14. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The gathering is meant to help American Indian Veterans learn more about the benefits they have earned from serving their country.
Extended Gym hours
Semper Fit extended the Gym hours on weekends during WTI. The Gym will remain open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. At the conclusion of WTI, Gym hours will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays due to cuts in funding for Marine Corps Community Services.
Twice as Nice Baby Gear Swap
MCCS is hosting a baby and kids gear swap from 4-6:30 p.m. at the station Community Center Bld 1093, Oct. 12. Participants can donate and shop for gently used baby, child and maternity items, all for free. Strollers will not be allowed inside the Community Center during the event.
