Lance Cpl. Typhoon Jelawat, which made landfall on Okinawa Sept. 29, left the island littered with debris, uprooted trees, overturned vehicles and caused other destruction. Cleanup crews began working immediately upon declaration of Tropical Cyclone Condition of Readiness-Recovery to repair the damage and restore full capabilities.
