Marines and their families with Marine Aircraft Group 13 enjoyed some kayaking provided by Arizona Adventures during the MAG-13 family day at Senator’s Wash near Yuma Proving Grounds Oct. 15. The day also included a barbeque, water trampoline, tug-of-war, egg toss and many other activites. “This is a collaborative event,” said Erica Ruiz, MAG-13 family readiness officer. “But what it really comes down to is the Marines and the families, this is why we’re here.”

Even the four-legged family members came out to enjoy the day, Marine Aircraft Group 13 sergeant major, Sergeant Maj. Lawrence Archambault, pets a MAG-13 family bulldog.

Col. Michael Gough, Marine Aircraft Group 13 commanding officer, serves a barbeque dinner to his Marines and their families at the MAG-13 family day at Senator’s Wash near Yuma Proving Grounds Oct. 15. “This is a great opportunity for us to come together and feel more like a family and not be seperated by sections,” Gough added.
