Seasonal Uniform change
Effective at 2 a.m., Nov. 4, the Marine Corps will transition to the Woodland MARPAT uniform, the Dress Blue Charlie and Service Uniform Bravo uniforms respectively.
MCAS Housing Trick-or-Treat
MCAS Yuma will offer trick or treating in the base housing area on Oct. 31st from 5-8 p.m.
American Legion Halloween Children’s Paarty
The American Legion will host a Halloween Party for children 0 to 12-years-old, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. The event is free and there will be costume contest by age groups, free train rides, corndogs, sodas and cookies, face painting and more!

Trunk or Treat Set
MCAS Yuma is scheduled to host “Trunk or Treat” as an alternative holiday venue for military families, Department of Defense civilian employees and their families on Oct. 27 from 2-5 p.m. at the Child Development Center Complex parking lot. The event will include a pumpkin carving contest, costume contest, pie eating contest, haunted house, trick-or-treating from “trunk-to-trunk”, carnival booths, and awards for best decorated car trunks. Come on out for a spooktacular time!
The Single Marine Program will host “Dodge of the Dead” at the station gym, Oct. 25, from 6-9 p.m. All active duty personnel are welcome to compete. Teams will be six people with everyone on a team in costume. Commander’s cup points will be awarded to the first place team. Free food and a live DJ will be provided.
The station is slated to host its Multicultural day on the MCAS YUma parade deck, Nov. 1, from 1-3 p.m. The event will celebrate diverse cultures from across the world.
MMEA/MMOA Station visit
MMEA will be on station Oct. 25.

Ramada Fields Now Open
The contractors have turned over the fields to MCCS. Marines and Units can reserve the fields by calling the Station Fitness Center at (928) 269-2727. A portion of Meyer’s Park has also been turned over to us: the football field running track. For reservations, contact the Athletic Department at (928) 269-2383/2280.

Red Ribbon Week Events
Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country, and will be held Oct. 22-31. MCAS Yuma is participating in two events:
1) A 5K run/walk event scheduled for Oct. 27., at Gateway Park from 6-9 p.m.
2) A crime prevention event scheduled to take place on Oct. 30 from 3-6 p.m. at the Yuma County Main Library, 2951 South, 21st Drive, Yuma, Arizona. For more information, contact Virgil Tapispisan at (928) 269-2791.
Land Withdrawal Renewal Public Meeting
The U.S. Marine Corps has completed a Draft Legislative Environmental Impact Statement (Draft LEIS) for the Land Withdrawal Renewal of the Chocolate Mountain Aerial Gunnery Range (CMAGR) for continued use for military training purposes. Four public meetings are being held to allow the public to comment on the proposed action, the alternatives and the adequacy and accuracy of the Draft LEIS.
Public comment meetings were held in Yuma, Ariz., El Centro and Palm Springs, Calif. earlier this week. Details of the final meeting is listed below:
