Ever want to read a book that opened like one of today’s movies or had the plot of a romantic comedy but still had the thrill of an action film? Well then, the book Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walter is just for you.
The story is bold and funny and is a prime example of a Hollywood novel and is Walter’s bestselling novel since his 9/11 novel, “The Zero”.
The story starts off when a young and rich American born woman winds up in a small Greece Island and has to find her way on her own. Struggling and trying to avoid people finding out her identity so she doesn’t get taken ransom she finds her savior outside bar to help her on her journey home.
“This is a Blockbuster, with romance, majesty, comedy, smarts, and cast of thousands,” said Daniel Handler, author. “If you want anything more from a novel than Jess Walter gives you in Beautiful Ruins, you’re just silly.”
Well I don’t know if silly is a good enough word to fit the vocabulary of this novel but this story can certainly keep one’s eyes glued to it.
