MARINE CORPS INTERNET-BASED TUITION ASSISTANCE IMPLEMENTATION

This message provides information pertaining to the marine corps implementation of the internet-based tuition assistance request and approval process.  The process will be converted from a paper-based format to a web-based procedure.

The web TA request and approval process has been in use at marforres since 2006 and provides marines with better oversight of the ta process and improved management of missing grades and coursework.

The implementation of web ta will begin at marine corps air station yuma and marine corps air station  cherry point on Dec. 1.  They will implement at the installations one unit at a time, until all units are processing TA via the web.  This process will be completed by Dec. 31.

The installation education service officer will brief installations commanders, unit commanders, command tuition assistance approvers and users from each unit on the implementation of web TA.  The briefing will include website access, completion of application, and application approval.

First-time ta users will receive information on web TA via the college 101 brief, which is required for new ta recipients. Eso’s at MCAS Yuma and MCAS Cherry Point will update the college 101 briefs provided by their installation to reflect the new process.

Following the implementation at MCAS Yuma and MCAS Cherry Point , headquarters Marine Corps (mfr) will develop and publish an implementation plan to complete the rollout of web TA at all installations by Dec 31.
