POWER SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS, NOV. 26-27
On Nov. 26-27, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., work at the new substation is scheduled to take place that could result in momentary interruptions of power service to facilities across MCAS Yuma. These brief service interruptions are not intended but are possible due to the nature of work being preformed. If an interruption occurs, it is expected to be 15 minutes or less (it means a breaker tripped and has to be reset). On these dates please make the necessary preparations to backup all data systems in the event of an unexpected service interruption in your area of the base.
Please call (928)269-2222 if you have any questions on power interruptions during this period.
HAVE IMMIGRATION QUESTIONS?
On Dec. 6 at the MCAS Yuma Law Center, Bldg. 852, beginning at 5 p.m., United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) representatives from the Phoenix office will offer the air station a community outreach opportunity for anyone on the station to come and ask specific questions about immigration. This is a great opportunity for military members, retirees and their family members to get one-on-one attention with folks that are doing the interviews and making decisions for the regional office in Arizona. Please contact Joe Covarrubias at (928) 269-2481 for further questions and to RSVP.
CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER SAFETY REMINDER
The MCAS Yuma School Liaison, Mrs. Elena McShane, would like remind all station drivers to please stop in front and behind school buses that are picking up and dropping students off at all installation bus stops as well as the Youth Center/CDC parking lot. It has been reported on several occasions that vehicles driving within the Youth Center/CDC parking lot are not always stopping in front and behind the school bus when the stop sign is posted. This not only poses a safety hazard for children walking to and exiting the bus to meet their parents, but it is also a driving violation and may be ticketed as such.
Parents waiting for their children at the Youth Center bus stop are encouraged to walk to the curb to pick up their children. Parents are also encouraged to park and exit on the west side of the parking lot in order to avoid waiting for the bus to leave. For further questions, please contact Elena McShane at (928)269-5373.
