The check represented the amount the volunteers saved the base during the volunteer year, which runs from April of 2011 through March of 2012. In an average year, over 550 volunteers contribute 102,082 hours of their time. The Nellis AFB Volunteer Resource Program hosted a 1950’s sock hop to thank the volunteers.
