Tyndall Ave. closure due to construction: A small segment of Tyndall Ave., directly in front of Building 441, will be closed to through traffic from approximately Sept. 17 through Oct. 5 due to construction. Utilities will be installed into a new hangar facility during this time. Detour routes will be posted, utilizing Griffis Ave. and Rickenbacker Ave., to drive around the construction. 2012 National POW/MIA Recognition Ceremony: Nellis, Creech and Nevada Test and Training Range will host the 2012 National POW/MIA Recognition Ceremony today at 9:30 a.m. at Freedom Park. A post-reception will be held at The Club following the ceremony.

2012 Las Vegas Air Force Ball: The 2012 Las Vegas Air Force Ball will be held at the Bellagio Grand Ballroom on Sept. 22. Tickets are currently on sale. More information can be found at http://www.vegasafball.com.

Skin Cancer Screening: The Mike O’Callaghan Federal Medical Center Family Medicine Clinic will provide active duty, retirees and dependents skin cancer screenings Sept. 24 from 1:30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. For more information contact (702) 653-3256.

2012 Olympia’s U.S. Air Force Xtreme Fit Challenge: The Olympia’s U.S. Air Force Xtreme Fit Challenge, the ultimate test of physical skill, mental toughness and unfailing team work. Held at Olympia Weekend on Sept. 28-29 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Las Vegas Convention Center, South Hall in Las Vegas, Nev., teams from the U. S. Air Force will engage in a battle for dominance on the most grueling fitness courses ever devised. Each team will compete head-to-head, pitting their strength, endurance and mental aptitude against each other for the chance to come out on top and earn the title, the 2012 Olympia’s U.S. Air Force Xtreme Fit Challenge Champion! If you’re up for the test of your life and think you have the team to get the job done, enter the Olympia’s U.S. Air Force Xtreme Fit Challenge now! Open to all active military personnel. Information Tickets and Travel: ITT has information on Las Vegas and surrounding points of interest. If you have any questions, we will find the answer! Tickets are on sale for most of the Las Vegas showrooms on the World Famous “Strip”. We sell dozens of tours and we have Front-of-the-Line and VIP packages to the hottest Night Clubs. Movie tickets are available for Galaxy and Regal theaters located all over Las Vegas. Party Rock Open: Party Rock Open debuts in Las Vegas at the Darling Tennis Center, and is holding a military appreciation day is Sept. 27. The event is a Tennis tournament. Active Duty military members who show their ID will be admitted free of charge.

Private Organization Lottery Meeting: The Private Organization Lottery Meeting for the 2012 Open House will take place Tuesday, Oct. 16. At 7:30 a.m. The meeting will be held in the Outdoor Recreation classroom. For more information e-mail Leah Docter at Leah.docter@nellis.af.mil.
