“To all the men and women of the United States Air Force Warfare Center, during this holiday season Suzanne and I want to I want to thank you for your commitment and sacrifice to our nation. Without your dedication to the mission, our warfighters could not have accomplished the amazing things they have done this year.
Now as we go into the holiday season I wanted to take a moment and remind us that we need to be a disciplined team both on and off duty. As you’re aware each holiday season, we read about tragedies involving automobile accidents, alcohol and rushing to get the job done or get somewhere. Let’s help our teammates make a good risk decision to not speed, don’t drink and drive or plan a 12-hour drive after a 12-hour shift. I want you all to enjoy some down time during the holidays but I want you all back to work safely when they conclude.
Next during the holidays, pay close attention to your teammate. The holidays can be a joyous time but for some it is a very tough time. Stay in tune to your teammates and step in if they seem down.
When it comes to work stay focused on excellence. You are all professionals and excellence is part of your core values. If were focused on excellence we can avoid costly errors that could cause harm.
As we go about our on and off duty activities let’s have a good attitude. We should be upbeat and enjoying the holiday season. A positive attitude is infectious – so go forth and spread the attitude.
Finally, we have an important mission here at the USAFWC and you make a difference each day. Stay focused on that mission as people down range are counting on us.
You are all professionals and I know you will stay disciplined during the holidays. So take care of your teammates during these holidays and enjoy what the season brings.
Suzanne and I wish you and your families a happy and safe holiday season.”
