Military basketball teams compete at Nellis, Vegas

Airman shoots a foul shot . . .

An Airman from the Nellis team shoots a foul shot during a Pacific West Military Basketball League game against the Marines from Camp Pendleton, Calif., Jan. 12, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. Nellis fell to 0-2 during the weekend event hosted in the Warrior Fitness Center after being beaten by Camp Pendleton and Fort Bliss, Texas.

Mike Fitzgerald, U.S. Air Force Academy Falcons senior forward, takes the ball to the hoop for a lay-up in a game against the University of Nevada Las Vegas, Jan. 12, at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas. Fitzgerald lead the Falcons with 22 points in an overtime loss against UNLV.

Academy player looks for an open teammate . . .

Michael Lyons, U.S. Air Force Academy Falcons senior guard, looks for an open teammate during a game against the University of Nevada Las Vegas, Jan. 12, at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas. UNLV defeated the Falcons in overtime with a final score of 76-71.
