RED FLAG 13-2 revs up at Nellis

An Airman from the Republic of Singapore Air Force assigned to the 425th Fighter Squadron, Luke Air Force Base, Ariz., monitors the rudders and elevators of an F-16 Fighting Falcon during RED FLAG 13-2 Jan. 21, 2013, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. Because of limited airspace, the RSAF trains with counterparts overseas including Australia, America and France.

An Airman from the Republic of Singapore Air Force assigned to the 425th Fighter Squadron, Luke Air Force Base, Ariz., inspects an F-16 Fighting Falcon during RED FLAG 13-2 Jan. 21, 2013, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. Post flight checks performed . . .

On the ground . . .

Pilots from Sweden’s 172nd Fighter Reconnaissance Squadron walk away from their JAS-39 Gripen fighter jets after landing at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., to participate in RED FLAG 13-2 Jan. 17, 2013. The exercise is hosted north of Las Vegas on the Nevada Test and Training Range, which has more than 12,000 square miles of airspace and 2.9 million acres of land; with 1,900 possible targets, realistic threat systems and an opposing enemy force that cannot be replicated anywhere else in the world.
