Ask the Doc

99th Medical Group

doctor
Q: Who will be my primary care doctor if I sign up for TRICARE Plus?

A: We will assign you a primary care manager in our Internal Medicine clinic. You will receive a letter stating the doctor you’ve been assigned.

Q: Can I change my primary care doctor if he/she isn’t right for me?

A: Yes, we encourage you to establish a positive working relationship with your PCM and we want you to feel comfortable with him/her.
Q: Will I have low priority for care since Nellis has to take care of active duty first?

A: Active duty always have priority at any DoD military treatment facility. TRICARE Plus is not a “space available” program. Those enrolled in TRICARE Plus have the same access to care and services as our TRICARE Prime members.

Q: Can I use TRICARE Plus if I travel out of the area?

A: TRICARE Plus is a local program so it will not apply when you travel.
