An Airman from the 99th Civil Engineer Squadron surveys the concrete density of a new flood wash gully Feb. 4, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. The new gully was installed during the construction of a new roundabout which will be finished June 1.

Covering piping . . .

An Airman from the 99th Civil Engineer Squadron dumps dirt on top of piping Feb. 4, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. This is for new pop up barriers which will be installed after the new roundabout near the Beale gate on Nellis.

Getting it done . . .

An Airman from the 99th Civil Engineer Squadron holds a shovel during the covering of electrical piping for new pop up barriers Feb. 4, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. Even with new machines that move dirt with ease Airmen still have to manually dig with a shovel which is where they get their nickname, the “Dirt Boys”.
