Another day at the office; weapons load crew keep aircraft armed

Loading an MK-82 . . .

Staff Sgt. Kevin Knight and Senior Airman Ian Carter, 757th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron weapons load crew members, load a MK-82 onto an A-10 Thunderbolt II Feb. 15 at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. Weapons loaders participate in quarterly load crew competitions to keep airmen sharp and to recognize superior performers.

Attaching fins to an AIM-120C missile . . .

Senior Airman Michael Schena and Senior Airman Christopher Wright, 57th Maintenance Group weapons load crew members, attach fins to an AIM-120C missile on an F-15 Eagle Feb. 15 at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. Weapons loaders are responsible for inspections, repairs, and maintenance on aircraft release, launch, suspension and monitor systems of munitions.

Weapons loaders work in teams of three, with the highest ranking member being the team chief.
