Q. My provider’s billing office asked if they should use my Department of Defense Benefits Number, or my sponsor’s Social Security number to file a claim. What do I tell them?  

A: You may let them know that either number will work. If they need additional assistance regarding filing claims, they should contact your regional contractor.

Contractors can be reached at the following phone numbers; North Region Contractor or Health Net is 1-877-TRICARE, South Region Contractor or Humana Military is 1-800-444-5445, the West Region Contractor or United Healthcare is 1-877-988-WEST, the TRICARE Eurasia-Africa Regional Call Center is 1-877-678-1207 toll-free from the U.S., the TRICARE Latin America & Canada Regional Call Center is 1-877-451-8659 toll-free from the U.S. and the TRICARE Pacific Regional Call Center is 1-877-678-1209.
