The Nellis ID Card/DEERS office up and running: The Nellis ID Card/DEERS office is now up and running; however there is only one station available. Due to the availability of personnel, the wait time will be two to three hours for CAC cards. The hours of operations will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:30a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

EFMP Parent Support Group: Share common experiences unique to special needs families and learn about new information and resources. We meet the third Wednesday of every month at the Airman and Family Readiness Center.

Deployed Spouses supporting Deployed Spouses: Stay strong during deployments and meet with other deployed spouses. Share ideas, learn coping skills, socialize and more. Meetings are held at the Airman and Family Readiness Center from 11 a.m. to noon the first and third Monday of each month. For more information call (702) 652-3327.

Combined Federal Campaign: It’s that time a year again. The 2013 Combined Federal Campaign has begun. CFC runs through Dec. 15 across Nellis and Creech Air Force Base’s. Anyone interested in donating to the CFC may donate online at http://www.cfcnca.org/ or contact one of the representatives listed below.

  • 99th Air Base Wing: Capt. Jennifer Cowie or Senior Master Sgt. Jumaane Izzard.
  • 57th Wing: Capt. Matthew Lyon
  • 505th Test and Evaluation Group: Capt. Mark Wuertz or Maj. George Melliza
  • 53rd Test and Evaluation Group: Senior Airman Jason O’Neal

New Nellis lodging  rates: Nellis lodging will charge new rates starting Oct. 1. The new rates include $56 for visiting officer quarters, $42.25 for visiting Airman quarters, $60.50 for temporary lodging facilities, $63.75 for large TLFs, $58.75 for distinguished VOQs, $44.75 for distinguished VAQs and $61.50 for large distinguished VQs.

Oct. 5: Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team Double-header: Nellis Air Force Base welcomes the nationally known Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team when they play a Double-header against Nellis colonels, chief master sergeants, first sergeants and other active duty members at Freedom Park. Opening ceremonies begin at 12:30 p.m. with games running 1-3 p.m. Some seating will be available but atendees may bring their own chairs. For more information, call Master Sgt.
