Deployed Spouses supporting Deployed Spouses: Stay strong during deployments and meet with other deployed spouses. Share ideas, learn coping skills, socialize and more. Meetings are held at the Airman and Family Readiness Center 11 a.m. to noon the first and third Monday of each month. For more information call (702) 652-3327.

The legal office expands appointment availability: The legal office has expanded its appointment availability to better serve you. Appointments are now available 9-11 a.m., and 1-3 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9-11 a.m., Friday. Due to the expanded appointment availability, walk-in hours are no longer available. To make an appointment, call the legal assistance phone line at (702) 652-7531.

Air University temporarily suspended: The Air University has temporarily suspended all active duty enrollments in the NCO Academy Distance Learning Academy Distance Learning Course. Active duty students who were enrolled in the course have been dis-enrolled. The course is open only to reserve and guard members at this time.

Nov. 2: Grapevine Canyon Hiking Trip, Oatman, Ariz. Spend a couple of hours enjoying the area which features more than 700 petroglyphs and rock shelters. Explore the desert or hike the canyon on a self-guided adventure. Travel to Oatman, Ariz., an authentic old western town with burros roaming the streets and staged gunfights. Most of the buildings are as they were built in the 1900s. The hike is considered east to moderate in difficulty. Bring water and snacks and wear appropriate shoes and clothing for the trip. A water cooler for refilling water bottles will be provided. Departure at Nellis will be at 8 a.m. with an estimated return at 6 p.m. The trip will cost $35 dollars per person and includes transportation. Nov. 4: Air Force Office Qualification Test Prep at the Airman and Family Readiness Center: The Air Force Office Qualification Test Prep is geared to assist enlisted members in preparation for the Officer Training School qualification test. Call the Airman and Family Readiness Center at (702) 652-3327 for more information.

Nov. 5: NAF Health Expo: The 99th Force Support Squadron will host a NAF Health Expo 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Nov. 5 at the Nellis Club. The event is open to everyone and will include free samples and giveaways.

Nov. 6: Deployed and Remote Family Dinner at Crosswinds Dining Facility: Meet and socialize with other deployed and remote families and get a night off from cooking and enjoy a free meal. Call the Airman and Family Readiness Center at (702) 652-3327 to register.

Nov. 7: Seven Steps to Better Credit, Lunch and Learn: The Seven Steps to Better Credit, Lunch and Learn class provides information on home and car purchases and offers mentorship on credit report analyzation. Contact the Airman and Family Readiness Center at (702) 652-3327 for more information.

Nov. 15-17: Marriage Care Couple’s retreat: The Nellis AFB Chapel is sponsoring a marriage care couple’s retreat Nov. 15-17 at the Hilton Resort, Lake Las Vegas. Cost is $25 a couple and is first come, first-served. To begin your registration process, email the Chapel Administrative Assistant, Andrea Fix at andrea.fix@us.af.mil.

Nov. 18: Air Force Office Qualification Test Prep at the Airman and Family Readiness Center: The Air Force Office Qualification Test Prep is geared to assist enlisted members in preparation for the Officer Training School qualification test.
