Deployed Spouses supporting Deployed Spouses: Stay strong during deployments and meet with other deployed spouses. Share ideas, learn coping skills, socialize and more. Meetings are 11 a.m.-noon, the first and third Monday of each month at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. For more information, call (702) 652-3327.

The legal office expands appointment availability: The legal office has expanded its appointment availability to better serve you. Appointments are now available 9-11 a.m., and 1-3 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9-11 a.m., Friday. Due to the expanded appointment availability, walk-in hours are no longer available. To book an appointment, call the legal assistance phone line at (702) 652-7531.

Air University temporarily suspended: The Air University has temporarily suspended all Active Duty Enrollments in the NCO Academy Distance Learning Academy Distance Learning Course. Active Duty students who were enrolled in the course have been dis-enrolled. The course is open only to reserve and guard members at this time.

EFMP Parent Support Group: Share common experiences unique to special needs families and learn about new information and resources. We meet the third Wednesday of every month at the Airman and Family Readiness Center.

Nellis on-base Charter School: Nellis is exploring the possibility of creating an on-base Charter School with the goal of providing an accelerated, high quality education targeted to Kindergarten through 8th grade students of active duty service members. You can identify your interest in the construction project, recommend what type of Charter School it should be, advocate special educational requirements a child may benefit from, express your interest in serving on a School Parent Advisory Board and ask questions concerning the topic at www.surveymonkey.com/s/MYFFZKG.

Nov. 15-17: Marriage Care Couple’s retreat: The Nellis AFB Chapel is sponsoring a marriage care couple’s retreat Nov. 15-17 at the Hilton Resort, Lake Las Vegas. Cost is $25 per couple and is first come, first-served. To begin your registration process, email the Chapel Administrative Assistant, Andrea Fix at andrea.fix@us.af.mil.

Nov. 21: Turket Trot, Great American Smoke Out: The Great American Smokeout is an annual event developed by the American Cancer Society and is held nationwide on the third Thursday of November. During this day people are challenged to stop smoking cigarettes for 24 hours in hopes of inspiring them to quit forever. The Turkey Trot, Great American Smoke Out 5K will be held at the Warrior Fitness Center starting at 7 a.m. For more information, call (702) 652-4891.

Nov. 23: Turkey Shoot at the Sunrise Vista Golf Course: The format will be a Flighted 2 Gross Balls with four-player teams. Players may make their own team. Price per player will be $65 or $55 for Annual Greens Fee Members. Entry includes green fee, carts, range, lunch, prizes and a turkey. Men Play White Tees/Women Play Red Tees. Sign up deadline is 22.
