Promotion Ceremony change: The 99th Air Base Wing Enlisted Promotion Ceremony is now scheduled for 10 a.m., Nov. 27 at the Club.

Deployed Spouses supporting Deployed Spouses: Stay strong during deployments and meet with other deployed spouses. Share ideas, learn coping skills, socialize and more. Meetings are 11 a.m.-noon, the first and third Monday of each month at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. For more information, call (702) 652-3327.

The legal office expands appointment availability: The legal office has expanded its appointment availability to better serve you. Appointments are now available 9-11 a.m., and 1-3 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9-11 a.m., Friday. Due to the expanded appointment availability, walk-in hours are no longer available. To book an appointment, call the legal assistance phone line at (702) 652-7531.

Air University temporarily suspended: The Air University has temporarily suspended all Active Duty Enrollments in the NCO Academy Distance Learning Academy Distance Learning Course. Active Duty students who were enrolled in the course have been dis-enrolled. The course is open only to reserve and guard members at this time.

EFMP Parent Support Group: Share common experiences unique to special needs families and learn about new information and resources. We meet the third Wednesday of every month at the Airman and Family Readiness Center.

Nellis on-base Charter School: Nellis is exploring the possibility of creating an on-base Charter School with the goal of providing an accelerated, high quality education targeted to Kindergarten through 8th grade students of active duty service members. You can identify your interest in the construction project, recommend what type of Charter School it should be, advocate special educational requirements a child may benefit from, express your interest in serving on a School Parent Advisory Board and ask questions concerning the topic at www.surveymonkey.com/s/MYFFZKG.

Nov. 22: POW/MIA Remembrance Breakfast: The Airmen Commited to Excellence Council will be hosting a POW/MIA Remembrance Breakfast at The Club 8 a.m., Nov. 22. The guest speaker for the event will be World War II former POW, retired 2nd. Lt. Dean Whitaker. A light breakfast will be provided by the Air Force Sergeants Association.

Nov. 22: Combined Federal Campaign Golf Tournament: The 99th Mission Support Group will be hosting the Combined Federal Campaign golf tournament Nov. 22 starting at 7:30 a.m at the Sunrise Vista Golf Course. The tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. This event will raise funds for CFC organizations that directly support Nellis Airmen and their families. Prices include golf cart fees, range balls, lunch and a CFC donation. The prices for pay grades are as follows: E-1 through E-4 and equivalent will be $40, E-5 through O-3 and equivalent will be $50 and O-4, equivalent and civilian guests will be $60. Fundraising efforts include string it out, mulligan cards, grenade throws, and red tees. Dozens of prizes available from gift cards, free hotel stays, to free rounds of golf. Nov 23: Turkey Shoot at the Sunrise Vista Golf Course: The Format will be a Flighted 2 Gross Balls with Four-Player Teams. Players may make their own team. Price per player will be $65 or $55 for Annual Greens Fee Members. Entry includes green fee, carts, range, lunch, prizes and a turkey. Men Play White Tees/Women Play Red Tees. Nov. 28: Thanksgiving meal: There will be a Thanksgiving Meal Celebration at Crosswinds Dining Facility Lunch Hours 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dinner Hours 3 to 6 p.m. Menu includes: Roast Turkey, Steamship Round, Baked Ham, Mashed Potatoes, Glazed Sweet Potatoes, Baked Corn Bread Dressing, Steamed Corn, Peas, Glazed Carrots, and a variety of Desserts. (Menu subject to change upon availability) Open to Enlisted, Officers, Dependents of Active Duty, Retirees and Dependents of Retirees. For more information, contact Crosswinds at (702) 652-6741.

Dec. 6: 99th Security Forces Squadron Warrior Challenge: Build a team of four to compete in the 99th SFS Warrior Challenge Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration closes Nov. 29. Dec. 6: 99th Air Base Wing Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting: The Nellis AFB Chapel will be hosting the annual 99th Air Base Wing Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting Dec. 6 at 5:30 p.m. at the Nellis AFB Chapel. Children will be able to participate in arts and crafts and take pictures with Santa Clause. The Protestant choir will also sing christmas carols.

Dec. 9: Annual Nellis, Creech, and Nevada Test and Training Range Airman Holiday Cookie Drive: Cookie donations for the annual Nellis, Creech and NTTR Airman Holiday Cookie Drive will be accepted and organized at the Nellis Chapel Dec. 9 from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Volunteers are needed to bake, pack and deliver a variety of cookies.
