Deployed Spouses supporting Deployed Spouses: Stay strong during deployments and meet with other deployed spouses. Share ideas, learn coping skills, socialize and more. Meetings are 11 a.m.-noon, the first and third Monday of each month at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. For more information, call (702) 652-3327.

The legal office expands appointment availability: The legal office has expanded its appointment availability to better serve you. Appointments are now available 9-11 a.m., and 1-3 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9-11 a.m., Friday. Due to the expanded appointment availability, walk-in hours are no longer available. To book an appointment, call the legal assistance phone line at (702) 652-7531.

Air University temporarily suspended: The Air University has temporarily suspended all Active Duty Enrollments in the NCO Academy Distance Learning Academy Distance Learning Course. Active Duty students who were enrolled in the course have been dis-enrolled. The course is open only to reserve and guard members at this time.

EFMP Parent Support Group: Share common experiences unique to special needs families and learn about new information and resources. We meet the third Wednesday of every month at the Airman and Family Readiness Center.

Nellis on-base Charter School: Nellis is exploring the possibility of creating an on-base Charter School with the goal of providing an accelerated, high quality education targeted to Kindergarten through 8th grade students of active duty service members. You can identify your interest in the construction project, recommend what type of Charter School it should be, advocate special educational requirements a child may benefit from, express your interest in serving on a School Parent Advisory Board and ask questions concerning the topic at www.surveymonkey.com/s/MYFFZKG.

Dec. 6: 99th Air Base Wing Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting: The Nellis AFB Chapel will be hosting the annual 99th Air Base Wing Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting 5:30 p.m., Dec. 6 at the Nellis AFB Chapel. Children will be able to participate in arts and crafts and take pictures with Santa Clause. The Protestant choir will also sing christmas carols.

Dec. 7: Liberty Bell Arch Hike: Outdoor Recreation will host a Liberty Bell Arch Hike. Participants will depart Nellis at 9 a.m. and return at 3 p.m. Cost is $15 per person. For more information, call (702) 652-2514.

Dec. 9: Annual Holiday Cookie Drive: Cookie donations for the Annual Nellis, Creech and NTTR Airman Holiday Cookie Drive will be accepted and organized at the Nellis Chapel 6-9 a.m., Dec. 9. Volunteers are needed to bake a variety of cookies, packing and the delivery of the cookies. For more information, email nelliscookiedrive@gmail.com.

Dec. 14: Ham Shoot: Sunrise Vista Golf Course will host a Ham Shoot stating at 8:30 a.m. Entry fee includes green fee, carts, range, lunch, prizes and a ham. For more information, call (702) 652-4497.

Dec. 20: Jingle Bell Run: The Warrior Fitness Center will be hosting a Jingle Bell Run 7 a.m. Prizes, t-shirts and refreshments will be available. For more information, call (702) 652-4497.

Dec. 25: Holiday Meal: Crosswinds Dining Facility will host a Holiday Meal breakfast from 6 to 8 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. The menu includes baked ham, roast turkey, roast rib of beef, mashed potatoes and a variety of desserts.
