Q. What is the process for an active duty member enroll into a new Primary Care Manager when reporting to a new duty station.
A. All active duty service members must in-process to their new duty station every time they PCS. This process will ensure you and dependents on Tricare Prime will have a PCM assigned in the local area and will be able to schedule appointments as needed. You will have to fill out an application form, DD Form 2853. For new enrollments and for transfers that are out of the region you just left, and can also be filled out for new PCM and address changes within the same region. There are different ways to fill out the application form for processing:
• At Right Start briefings
• By visiting the TRICARE Service Center located in building 1305, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Online at www.uhcmilitarywest.com
• In certain situations you can call 1-877-9378 and have this done over the phone.
Whichever method you chose to update your information, you want to make sure it is done as soon as possible after arriving at a new duty station.
